Icefall Breaker puts a paddle at the bottom of the stage and a snowball on top of it. Launch, and the snowball climbs towards a wall of rounded blocks, breaks whatever it touches and comes rattling back down. Your only job is to be underneath it. That is the whole idea, and it has kept people leaning towards their screens for decades.

Our twelve walls are laid out by hand, then rearranged a little for this mountain so they feel like Glacierline’s own. Chunks of glacier ice are scattered through them; they take two hits, glowing after the first. Some blocks always release a power-up when they break, so learning where they sit becomes part of the plan. Clear every block to finish a wall, and your stars depend on the lives you still have.

How to play Icefall Breaker

  1. Choose an open wall from the level list; the first is ready, and each clear unlocks the next.
  2. Tap, click or press Space to launch the snowball from your paddle towards the blocks.
  3. Move with the mouse, a finger or the arrow keys to keep the snowball from dropping past you.
  4. Hit the snowball with different parts of the paddle to change its angle and pick your targets.
  5. Break every block, including the two-hit glacier ice, to clear the wall and earn up to three stars.

Getting better at Icefall Breaker

  • Catch the snowball near an end of the paddle to send it out wide, near the centre to send it straight up.
  • Open a hole at one side of the wall early; a snowball loose behind the blocks does a lot of work for free.
  • Crack glacier ice while it is still surrounded, since a block boxed in by others is easier to hit twice.
  • When Twin snowballs arrives, follow the lower one and let the higher one look after itself for a moment.
  • Never dive for a falling power-up if it means leaving the snowball; a lost life costs more than any bonus.

The paddle is a steering wheel

Where the snowball lands on the paddle decides where it goes next. A hit in the middle sends it up almost straight, while a hit near either end throws it off at a sharp slant. Once that clicks, the paddle stops being a wall and becomes a way of aiming.

Good players use this constantly. Rather than simply returning the ball, they look for the last block in a corner, the cracked glacier ice in the middle row, a gap that would let the snowball bounce along the top edge. The game turns from panic into something closer to billiards, and a wall that looked hopeless five minutes ago comes down in a few clever shots. It is worth spending a whole wall just practising edge hits, because that one skill does more for your star count than anything else.

Power-ups that always arrive in the same place

There are three power-ups: Wide paddle, Twin snowballs and Slow pace. They are not random. Each comes from a particular block placed in the wall by design, so the same block releases the same help every time you play that level. Learn the wall and you can plan for it.

That matters most on the later walls. Knowing that a Slow pace block sits in the third row of Avalanche Fence means you can aim for it when the snowball gets too lively. Wide paddle is the comfort blanket, Twin snowballs is the wall-clearer, and taking all three in a tidy sequence is one of the best feelings on the whole line.

Questions about Icefall Breaker

Three on every wall. Dropping the snowball past your paddle costs one, and the stars you earn when a wall is cleared depend on how many you have left.

Yes. The walls you have unlocked and the stars you have earned on each are stored in your browser, so you can come back and pick up from the furthest wall you reached.

Those are glacier ice blocks. They need two hits, glowing after the first, before they finally shatter.
